1. enrollment

Enrollment should be received in writing by ASL Internationale Sprachenschule München (hereinafter: ASL) at least 14 days prior to the start of the course, unless otherwise agreed.

2. course participation and confirmation of enrolment

ASL Munich will send a confirmation of enrollment for the language course and, if applicable, the booked accommodation immediately after receipt of the enrollment. This confirmation also serves as an invoice and participant ID. Upon receipt of the confirmation of enrollment by the course participant, the contract between ASL and the participant comes into effect.

3. payment

3.1 The price lists for tuition and accommodation valid at the time of enrolment (www.aslsprachen.de/en) are an integral part of the contract.

3.2 With the enrollment a deposit of 30% of the course costs is due. The remaining amount must be paid into the account of ASL before the beginning of the course or proof must be provided before the beginning of the course that the total amount has been paid. Receipt in the account of ASL specified in the invoice is decisive for the timeliness of the payment.

3.3 All bank charges incurred in connection with the payment of the course fee will be borne by the course participant.

3.4 ASL reserves the right to refuse to provide the contractual services in case of late or incomplete payment before the beginning of the course.

3.5 In the event of non-participation in the booked course, late arrival, early departure or discontinuation of a course as well as in the event of other absences (e.g. illness), there is no entitlement to reimbursement of the course fee.

4. withdrawal, change and rebooking

4.1 Withdrawal from a course that has already been booked must be communicated to ASL in writing (also by e-mail). The date of receipt of the withdrawal letter by ASL is decisive for the amount of the withdrawal fee. The cancellation fee is 0% of the course price up to 30 days before the course start date stated in the announcement, 10% of the course price from the 29th to 21st day before the course start date, 20% of the course price from the 20th to 14th day before the course start date, and 30% of the course price from the 13th to 7th day before the course start date. Cancellation is not possible from the 6th day before the beginning of the course.

For accommodation in host families the same conditions apply. However, cancellation is only possible up to the 14th day before the start of the course. After that date, the rent must be paid in full, unless another tenant can be found for the booked rental period. In case of accommodation in hostels, guesthouses or hotels, the terms and conditions of the respective institution apply.

Accommodation can only be booked with a language course taking place at the same time.

4.2 For visa confirmations the following applies: At least one course level (8 weeks) must be paid in advance. Cancellations due to non-issuance of a visa or any other justified important reason will be charged with € 100,00 fee, the rest will be refunded, but only if the original confirmation issued by ASL is returned or by presenting proof of rejection by the authority.

4.3 If a confirmation of the application was issued for submission to a German authority in Germany or abroad, refunds can only be made upon return of the original of this confirmation or a confirmation issued by the authority.

4.4 ASL reserves the right to combine a course with another comparable course, to postpone it, to hold it online or hybrid or to cancel it due to insufficient number of participants or due to circumstances beyond its control. The minimum number of participants is 7. If there are fewer participants, the number of lessons per week is reduced as follows:

5 – 6 persons: 20 lessons per week

3 – 4 persons: 15 lessons per week

If there are fewer than 3 participants, the course will not take place.

4.5 If the course does not take place for reasons beyond the control of the language school, the student may make up the same course at a later date. The course fee will not be refunded unless it is impossible for the student to repeat the course at a later date.

4.6 If the customer requests a rebooking (e.g. change of date), this is possible until 14 days before the course starts at the latest. After this date, rebooking is no longer possible. The first rebooking is free of charge, each further rebooking costs 50€.

5. refund

In case of cancellation, ASL will refund the amounts already paid, deducting the cancellation fee mentioned under 4. No refund claims can be made for services voluntarily not used by the participant or for services not used for reasons for which the participant is responsible.

6. course assignment

Assignment to a course level is based on a placement test or proof of existing German language skills.

7. accommodation

7.1 Damages caused by the participant in the accommodation are to be compensated by the participant. If ASL is held liable for any damage caused by the participant, ASL shall be entitled to compensation from the participant. The arrival should take place at the latest by 22:00.

7.2 Prior inspection of the accommodation is not possible.

7.3 Violation of the landlord’s house rules will result in termination of the rental relationship without notice and without any claim for compensation or refund of the rent.

8. obligations of the course participant

ASL undertakes to carry out the language courses as indicated. Cancellations of the announced courses are reserved, these will be announced at least 1 week before the scheduled start. In this case, the amount already paid will be refunded without deduction. Further claims are excluded. Short-term under- or overstaffing of the respective courses must be reserved, no liability can be accepted for cancellations due to state holiday laws, occupational health and safety laws, etc. The continuity of the teaching staff employed can only be guaranteed within the framework of German labor laws or collective bargaining agreements; the right to change teaching staff at short notice is therefore reserved. ASL is only liable for damages caused to a participant by a legal representative of ASL or a vicarious agent if the latter is guilty of intent or gross negligence.
