The A 1 intensive course German teaches basic German language skills. Participants learn to form simple sentences, introduce themselves and hold everyday conversations. The focus is on the four basic skills: Listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The lessons begin with learning the alphabet and pronunciation. Students practise linking letters and sounds to pronounce words correctly. The language teachers often use pictures to expand vocabulary and facilitate understanding.
Communication is an important part of the course. Participants are encouraged to talk to each other and engage in simple dialogs. Topics such as introducing oneself, shopping, ordering food and giving directions are frequently covered. Learners also practise writing short texts to improve their writing skills.
The use of playful elements and interactive exercises is common in A1 courses to make lessons fun and effective. Songs, games and role-plays allow participants to practise the language in a relaxed context.
Grammar topics at this level include simple sentence structures, the use of articles, pronouns and basic vocabulary. Learners also learn to ask and answer simple questions.
At the end of the A 1 intensive course, participants should be able to communicate in simple situations in German. This lays the foundation for continuing the language learning process at higher levels.
This A 1 intensive course German ends with the ASL internal language exam.
